Sleigh It: How to Save £500 for Christmas

As a money-saving expert, I’ve got a challenge for you: can you save £500 by December? It may seem like a daunting task, but with a little bit of discipline and planning, it’s definitely achievable.

One TikTok user, @budgetwithtigerlilly, has shared her own method for saving £500 by Christmas. She uses a weekly sheet that you tick off between July and December to help with funds. The idea is to put away £20 each week and cross it off on the tracker, which would leave you with £500 by December 22nd.

But what if you can’t afford to put away £20 each week? Don’t worry, there are other options. @budgetwithtigerlilly has also shared different versions of her challenge, including a £5 version where you put away £5 each week and end up with £125, and a £10 version which gives you £250.

The key to saving for Christmas is to start early and be consistent. Whether you can afford to put away £20 or £5 each week, the important thing is to make it a habit.

For example, you could try the £5p saving challenge, which enables you to put aside £3,000 by the end of the year. Or you could try the weather saving challenge, where you save the amount equal to whatever the highest temperature was that week.
